"WQ and You" Charity GivingBecause I'm dedicated to creating the quilts my customers have always wanted, I rarely have the opportunity to make or donate quilts to good causes. But it's still important to me to give back, which is why my husband and I started a Whimzie Quiltz inspired charity giving program a couple of years ago.
For 2012,"WQ and You" will be giving sick kids a reason to smile - one pillowcase at a time! With each and every Whimzie Quiltz custom order, I'll be making two colorful, fun 100% cotton pillowcases for children who are battling life changing illnesses as part of ConKerr Cancer's A Case for Smiles program.
ConKerr Cancer is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to helping children feel special while receiving in-hospital medical treatment. In the last four years, ConKerr Cancer volunteers have delivered over 430,000 cheerful pillowcases to sick children in hospitals across the country - 17,725 pillowcases have been delivered to oncology and pediatric wards in San Diego alone!
With the help of caring Whimzie Quiltz customers like you, we're hoping to donate at least 24 pillowcases, maybe more, to A Case for Smiles in 2012.

Here's how "WQ and You" works -Every time you order a custom Whimzie Quilt in 2012, I'll purchase enough cheerful, colorful fabrics to make two 100% pillowcases for a child in the ConKerr Cancer program. It costs you nothing! I'll even research a ConKerr chapter near your hometown for delivery so the donation your quilt inspires will help brighten the hospital room of a child currently undergoing medical treatment in a pediatric or oncology ward near where you live.
